![]() ![]() The next Concept Sale Ship is supposed to be the Crucible repair ship. The Sabre LTI is no longer available, but there will be other LTI ships released in the future. With the new Ship Upgrade system, you simply have to wait until a less expensive LTI ship goes on sale and buy it, then wait until the Carrack goes on sale again, and upgrade your LTI ship to the Carrack, which will have LTI. No need to apologise at all, it's exactly what I was thinking (get a carrack!) I wasn't sure if they were going to be selling it again (I was hoping they would be with LTI then yep that is what I will get) and if that's the case I'll keep the Andromeda for everything else (Until such time as I try something different or earn more ships in game) I have actually been waiting for the Carrack/Carrick to come on sale special for the very purpose of exploration (after I saw a bit about it then I saw that it was not available) However if that is only temporary and they will do a sale on it. Upgrade to a Carrick when it's on CCU sale (which might just happen this anniversary sale Nov19-26 I believe), sorry if I'm being blunt but you will not beat or be disappointed in the Carrick. Since it has been established you are able to / looking to spend some money with an 'upgrade' I'm going to just get to the pointy end of the stick. I'm just going to come right out and give you the BEST option for what you want, which is to Explore is it not? So everyone is posting Pros & Cons of the Andromeda and Aquila and keeping the ship in your package as 'X' or changing to 'X' ship. ![]() That said, I think the Aquila is a well armed ship, so aspiring explorers shouldn't need the added firepower of an Andromeda for exploration. So explorers will need to protect themselves, just like everyone else. Also, pirates will probably establish their bases in remote areas where the authorities don't bother to patrol, but explorers will venture. However, explorers will eventually need to come in for fuel and supplies, and they could run into enemies along the home stretch. You're correct that pirates will probably stake out heavily trafficked space lanes and trade routes, not the expanses. You'd either be in fringe where no-one is, or you'd be in UEE and can set out a distress beacon for help if need be.ĮDIT: I'd say, if u want exploration, then Aquila.Īctually, the star systems in the PU are supposedly so expansive that there will plenty to explore in UEE star systems. I'd roam where cargo and trade ships travel most often, see if I can pick off a fool with no escort ships.Įxploratory ships don't need to be well armed unless you plan to go into vanduul space. It takes too much time and is ineffective. If I were a pirate, I wouldn't roam fringe space hoping a find an exploration ship, that may or may not have cargo. Exploring will take place mostly away from civilisations, from well trodden trade routes. I just find it interesting how people who are intend on exploring, expect alot of battle. ![]()
